Has anybody been awarded a Navy Unit Commendation Medal? If so what side is it worn on when it comes to the Army Service Uniform?

Make sure you wear it in the right spot which is generally between the Achievement and Good Conduct. However you may have other stuff in between. It's equivalent to the Valorous Unit Award, so if you have that, it goes one lower. If you have a Superior Unit Award, the NUC goes above it. Subsequent awards of the NUC are denoted by 3/16" bronze stars. Never contaminate a Navy product with (gag) oak leaf stuff. Rule of thumb is any award from another service goes lower to the equivalent you have. Joint awards are always above individual service awards.

The following lists indicate the order of precedence within each category, when two or more medals from each category are worn at the same time:
a. U.S. military decorations. A decoration is an award given to an individual as a distinctively designed mark of honor denoting heroism, or meritorious or outstanding service or achievement. U.S. military decorations authorized for wear on Army uniforms are listed below in order of precedence.
(1) Medal of Honor (Army, Navy, and Air Force).
(2) Distinguished Service Cross.
(3) Navy Cross.

You might want to clarify the medal. NAM (Navy Achievement Medal) seems to be the medal you're assuming, but you might also be speaking of MUC (Meritorious Unit Commendation).

The Navy Unit Commendation (NUC), a ribbon - not a medal, is worn on the right side with unit awards.

This unframed unit citation is worn with other unit citations above the breast pocket on the right side of the Army Service Uniform. In order of precedence it falls between the VUC and the MUC. It is aligned horizontally with other unit citations in whichever row it falls.

A Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon is worn on the right side, with your unit awards. It's worn after the Army Meritorious Unit Citation (solid red), but before the Air Force Merit. Unit (or more likely, before the Army Superior Unit Citation. No gold frame, as others have noted.
If it's a Navy Commendation Medal (individual decoration, not unit award), it goes behind the Army Commendation Medal, before the Jt. Achievement/Army Achievement Medal.
Assuming its the unit comm., it's similar to how CJCS Gen. Hugh Shelton wears an Army PUC and immediately behind it a Navy PUC.

4/503, B 3/319, Tim Stouts MP squad and a couple other men of the 173d that went to Da Nang in Oct-Dec 66 were awarded the Navy Marine Corps Presidential Unit Citation. It is worn on the right side, Army style, without a frame (somebody got that bright idea for consistency), to the left of any Army PIC.
