I just remembered that Rob Riggle is a retired LTC from the Marine Corps Reserve. He's only 45.

You'll see some in upcoming movies, Citizen Soldier, and Range 13. Range 13 is chock full of OIE/OEF veterans, including Marcus Luttrell (Lone Survivor); 2 Medal of Honor recipients: Leroy Petry & Clint Romesha; as well as Alek Skarlatos (Paris train terror).
One of the firemen in Range 13 went to high school with my son, pretty much grew up in my house, still refers to me as 'mom'! You can pick him out at :16 seconds into the trailer, on right of screen, red shirt, brown fireman's pants, ... he's also later in the trailer in full MOP gear carrying the torso end of a victim with another rescuer - Navy veteran, Austin Renfroe. Plus several others, including female OIF/OEF veterans. Not just bit parts either, many have speaking & acting parts, not just 'extras'!

there are a number of lesser known actors and actresses that have served, but are not yet as popular as other big names. military history is a large part of American history so it will never fade out. there will ALWAYS be a story to tell

In the movie Battleship, Gregory D. Gadson portrays Lieutenant Colonel Mick Canales. In real life, he graduated from West Point and is a full colonel. From his IMDb file: "Gadson, was returning from a memorial service in Baghdad for two Soldiers from his brigade on May 7, 2007, when his vehicle was hit by an improvised explosive device. He lost both legs above the knee and suffered a severe injury to his right arm."

besides Driver (can't remember first name), No. To answer your second question, Absolutely without a doubt. I hate to say it but less people are joining the military and less service members are getting out with interest in film. The music industry is BOOMING with prior service though.

None come to mind; most if not all Hollywood types are SJWs and anti-American subversives that need to be introduced to the Deep-6. Besides, it would be a way for them to do be their part for the environment by being a food source for worms and sharks.

Yes, however the most vets who were Hollywood stars came out of WW ll. I am sure there are a few under 50 who have served but cannot, at the moment, recall who they are.
War movies today seem as popular as ever. Especially when the film is based on actual events.
!917, Midway and sniper come to mind. There are a few others.
