Great Picture. Kids aren't real big on Military Décor. Love It! Reminds me of the Flying Tackles my Son would give me when I came home. Had to discourage that after he knocked me off my feet.

After Army Deputy Chief of Staff General Cody (4-star aviation Jedi Master) pinned my PH, he was making a speech to the troops in attendance. My tiny man is 6 years old and walks up to him and just looks up at him. He stops dead in his tracks and asks 'Hey, what's up there future trooper?' My son says 'Dad's going to take us for ice cream after this if I behave myself.' General Cody: 'Sounds good. I'll be really quick then.'

I've never understood why the Army has to hold formation when you get back from a deployment. Let the Soldiers see their families!
I guess it's a little different in the Navy. We've got to get the ship tied up to the pier, brow put in place, and then release the Sailors (who aren't on duty).

In hind sight I guess the Navy way is probably longer than the Army way, but still... holding people and not letting them immediately see their families?

Wow...didn't realize this guy was a 1LT. I'm betting his company commander probably had something to say to him afterwards... in this zero defect environment. Personally, I think this is cute.

Very nice CSM Michael J. Uhlig. I will never understand why we bring troops home and don't allow them to see loved ones immediately and then do the ceremony. It is awful, to be so close, and standing in formation. I have seen this done many ways, but I always preferred letting troops see there families and then getting back in formation for the ceremony. Nevertheless, still an awesome video.

The love and trust of a child for their dad is always a wonderful thing to see. I am glad that the dad broke ranks to greet his daughter and that the whole event was captured on video.
