Good evening RP brothers and sisters! I would like to know your view on adding additions to the US flag?

For example the thin blue, red, green or other modifications to "Old Glory" . Is this okay or should another flag be used instead?

Once you make an unofficial addition to the United States Flag, it is no longer the flag of the United States. So I do not see any issues with it.

SSG Michael Noll Personally, those little ‘dots’ on the lapel Flags worn by Sean Hannity are offensive to me!

The best explanation I have found is that they are a means of Secret Service agents identifying themselves to one another. Supposedly, if you are a VIP or vip wanna be, they say, ‘I have connections’!

Those ‘dots’ remain as Desecration of the Flag in my mind!

If I'm reading your question correctly, you want to add something to an existing, real US flag. If that's the case then according to the US Code, I would say no.

"The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature."

Nor should it ever be used for advertising.

"The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever."

There are plenty of other flag versions already out their supporting the other thin lines. I'd recommend leaving Old Glory alone.

An actual US flag? 100% no.

If you take something that didn't start life as an actual US flag and change something on it (make it black & white then add a colored stripe) then, at least as far as I see it, that's not a U.S. flag - just similar to it.

I saw a US flag a few years ago that had a picture of Hank Williams, Jr. printed over it. Now, I see a lot of black and white striped flags, or flags with one of the stripes replaced with a solid blue one in support of law enforcement,

I love Hank Williams, Jr., and I have the greatest respect for law enforcement. But that's not my flag.

Mike- technically any additions are against the US Flag code, if folks get carried away you will a shit show.
