Given the wrong COVID vaccination by the state Med Det, what do I do?

Per the Covid vaccination mandate my unit has required that all soldiers complete one of four tasks. First receive the FDA approved vaccination supplied by the state mandate, to receive the EUA vaccination on the open market, three file for an exemption, Or for refuse vaccination and receive disciplinary action. I signed my counseling stating that I would do the FDA approved supplied by the unit and after the fact found out it was an easy way not an FDA approved vaccine. Tried to file an IG complaint and I’m not getting nowhere. What do I do next?

Pfizer, Moderna, and Janssen (formerly the Johnson & Johnson) are all FDA approved under EUA. I don't understand your question here. Are you saying you only consented for administration of the Pfizer vaccine (as it is FDA approved outside of the EUA) yet was administered something else? Regardless, my best guess says an IG complaint won't go very far as DoD is fully on board with the vaccine mandate. Specific version doesn't seem to matter to them as long as you get it.

If it helps any....I received both doses of the Moderna vaccine at the beginning of the year. Thus far, I can not determine any detrimental reactions post administration. Most of my EMS co-workers received the Moderna vaccine at the same times. None have reported adverse reactions.

IG is to investigate areas of breacks in policy/regulation. You stated you signed/agreed to get the vaccine that the unit supplied. Per the HQDA COVID OPORD, Soldiers could receive any of the 3 types of COVID vaccines.

If the unit gave you the vaccination, then it should count. Don’t make a big deal out of it. Only complain if the unit decides the shot didn’t count and you’ll have to take a do-Over.

SSG Private RallyPoint Member - Query - Is you Guard unit going to deploy out-of-state? I ask because that would be the only reason you may have a issue, but that should not hinder the deployment.

So, your issue is that you thought you were getting one FDA approved vaccine and instead your unit offered a different FDA approved vaccine, and so because of that you think some barracks lawyer loophole will allow you to do..... What exactly?

If you don't want the vaccine your unit is offering then go get the one that you want on the open market. The Army is under no obligation to cater to your vaccine whim. It is a supply issue, your unit has whatever they are given. If the specific vaccine matters to you, then go get the one you want and report to work with you new CDC card. Otherwise, being promised one vaccine does not alleviate you of the requirement to get vaccinated

Reading your question and your responses to others....it sounds like you're focusing too hard on the peas and not the steak. You signed a document that you were gonna get one particular FDA approved shot. Instead, you received a different FDA approved shot. As long as the shot received is FDA approved and the Army accepts that shot as meeting the directive....where is the harm to you? If you are not getting anywhere with IG....it's probably due to the fact that IG feels this is not their lane.

Seriously??? You got a COVID vaccine, right? Then there is nothing for you to do!!! And if I remember correctly, all of the vaccines were approved whether by the FDA or an emergency approval. I can understand why you aren't getting anywhere. There's nowhere to go!!
