CPO Nate S. 8526476

So, I was chatting with some folks and they have been following groups like:

> No Labels (https://www.nolabels.org/our-ideas),

> Andrew Yang and the Forward Party (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forward_Party_(United_States)#),

> Robert Kennedy Jr. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_F._Kennedy_Jr._2024_presidential_campaign#%20Democratic%20nomination).

It is interesting how many people are seriously thinking about independent candidates. It is also interesting the number if so-called Independents in the 118th Congress and historically: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third-party_and_independent_members_of_the_United_States_Congress.

The math is interesting:

> So, of 435 members 40% = 174/175 so called independents.

> This leaves 261 either (D) or (R) and if we assume a 50/50 split then each would have 130/130 each.

> That means to get to 218 for say speaker this means that ONLY 44 votes are needed.

> This then means if 174 (I's) voted as a block then it would take 44 (R's) or 44 (D's) to get consensus on say a Speaker, that is the I's were truly INDEPENDENT (Humm!)

But, this math is wishful thinking.......

What are the thoughts of the RP Family? Is 2024 going to punish both (D's) and (R's) in favor of more (I's) so that the nation can move forward with real debate.

These are real discussion the nation needs to have in a tactful yet honest manner.

As always please be respectfull of those that may not share your own views.

No Labels

A national movement of people who believe in America and in bringing our leaders together to solve our toughest problems.

Given the US House's "confusion" should Veterans vote for Independents in 2024? 2023-10-24T19:27:19-04:00 CPO Nate S. 8526476

So, I was chatting with some folks and they have been following groups like:

> No Labels (https://www.nolabels.org/our-ideas),

> Andrew Yang and the Forward Party (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forward_Party_(United_States)#),

> Robert Kennedy Jr. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_F._Kennedy_Jr._2024_presidential_campaign#%20Democratic%20nomination).

It is interesting how many people are seriously thinking about independent candidates. However, since, IMO, there is no chance for an Independent to get elected to the Presidency, I feel it would be a waste of a vote. So, other than make one feel good, it will not accomplish much in the election of a President. Besides, I do not believe the "Independent" label on most politicians. That just usually means they lost the support of their previous party. The very Populous Party members revolted against a Speaker that tried to cut a deal without informing them. Now the old school members, the RINO's fir no better word, are trying to stop any of the Popular not old school Republicans from getting the Office, a lot of the reason is that there is about a 50/50 chance whomever gets picked could end up President. The "Moderates" are generally Washington Insiders that are getting more and more out of touch with the rest of the party.
