Everywhere I look, there is candidate bashing from both sides and in my mind, I think a lot of it is valid. We have two actively campaigning candidates with long laundry lists of why they are wrong for the job. I don't want the job so I would have to write in a different name on the long shot that enough people randomly agreed with me to get that choice elected. A name is enough, why is optional.

General Mattis would be one of my top choices but I have doubts that he would ever run.

I've said before that I would like to see ND Senator John Hoeven run for POTUS but I don't think he will either. He's made comments before about wanting to stay in the Senate to do his part there rather than the oval office.

Tough question. I don't see too many great leaders out there. I used to think Gen Colin Powell would have until he switched parties. I would have to go for Gen Mattis. Trumps arrogance gets him into trouble. I agree with what he said about the refugees, with ISIS vowing to use the refugee program they will get into the USA. Therefore we need a better vetting system for a region that is difficult to verify if those refugees have ties with terrorist groups. I've read that the vetting process has decreased from 24 months to 3 months at the order of Obama. Hillary will not do anything to protect this country and she will continue the decimation of our military.

It's been a long time since this country has had a great leader.

I've come to the belief that anyone who wants to be President should automatically be eliminated from holding the job on the grounds of insanity. The comedian Lewis Black had the right idea when he said that we should blindfold a random person, give him (or her) a dart and have him throw it at a map of the United States. You should then fly Air Force one over the spot the dart landed on, with a monkey wearing a parachute, and toss him the door. Once he lands and untangles himself from the parachute, the first person the monkey comes to and actually touches is the next president of the United States.

My write in Candidate would be Senator Jim Webb, USMC (Ret.). He was the former Virginia Senator and the impetus and originator of the Post 9/11 GI Bill. His resume of Government Service is impeccable. Former Secretary of the Navy and very astute when it comes to Foreign Policy. I may still write his name in for the General Election.
