It is flattering to hear such praises from others who have served with US forces. Particularly when much of our Media is content to only look for our faults.

On my one and only "deployment" as part of a UN mission in Croatia, I experienced the same sentiment from the many nations we worked with. It wasn't hero worship, but there was a respect for Americans - unless (or until) we proved ourselves not worthy of that respect.

SSG Gerhard S. It is nice to see the U.S. portrayed in a positive like. I had not seen the article you posted, but I did see the one that PO2 Gerry Tandberg posted and frankly was presently surprised that it came from the French, I even chuckled when the writer made light of the same. It made me proud when he compared our troops of today with our forefathers that liberated France and Europe. Unfortunately there are many in Europe that do not recognize the sacrifices of the Allied Forces that ensured Europe's freedom.
