I loved it there, I used to run my squad for PT to the beach every day, they were in the best shape of their lives. I taught and coached my squad Boxing. Four of my soldiers and myself won the Post Boxing Smokers in 1986. We deployed to Hawaii for a month, and they gave us a whole week off, that was awesome. My stay there was short, but memorable. My favorite place on Fort ord was Stillwell Hall, right on the beach. I would go out there to read, relax, and recharge my batteries. I still visit Fort Ord now-a-days.
