Forbes did a list of the 10 worst jobs - Enlisted Military came in at #9. What do you think?

Given the amount of responsibility & what is asked of said members, I think it is more correct than it is not. Especially if compared to anything civilian (that is comparative, of course)

On a positive side of things, they had us listed at #3 out of the top 10 worst jobs in 2014....things are looking up!

If they go just by base pay, then maybe. However, there are so many other intangibles that I would not be able to put a price tag on. I would give up my higher paying job right now if asked to go back.

Based on their criteria, hell yes they got it right. High stress, extremely dangerous and low pay. There are a lot of features that defy analysis though - purpose, camaraderie, getting to play with really cool toys and the experiences that we all treasure.

It's that shitty job we'll all wax nostalgic about the rest of our lives and that's priceless.

One man's "worse job" is another man's most gratifying. I suspect the panel that picked the enlisted member for the list never served. It's easy to understand how someone looking at it from the outside would see it that way. I'm had a few great jobs since retiring from the military and I can tell you all pale in comparison.

This is nothing new. US Military has been on this list for years. The job comes with a huge "suck factor" that we all been through but it also comes with some great perks.

I've been in a world of misery since I've retired, I'm surrounded by retarded civilians who dont know their left from right, they have no values, they haven't the clue what honor is, and they fucking ask all the time like it's cool how many people did you kill, they ask have you been to combat and when you say yes they act like your dog just died oh I'm sorry are you ok!. For.all you that think it was the worst really didnt put in to being.a soldier sailor or airman or spacemen. Cause if I could of I would have severed the rest of my life fuck I miss being a soldier
