When I retired from the military, I worked for a local RV dealer for 2 years. Learned ALOT. Our camper is currently on a lake site just outside Bemidji MN. First thing I did was replace the rinky-dink kitchen faucet with a regular home one. Took a bit due to tight spaces, but it was well worth it.Response by MSgt John Grollimund made Dec 28 at 2015 12:12 PM2015-12-28T12:12:56-05:002015-12-28T12:12:56-05:00SGT Jason Anderson1200586

I have a 35 foot class a.
-I like that it does not take 30 minutes for my wife to go potty when we are in route.
-I like that I can park, push a button and be 90%set up.
- dont like that the driver area is included in my 35 feet.
-don't like 6.5 mpg...

I'd go with a fifth wheel if I could do it over again.
With a fifth wheel setup, I can piggyback my boat behind it. Pros: traveled all over with is in the western US. Great trailer. Cons: Shower system, sinks, and stabilizing jacks. All of poor quality and would be to expensive for me to replace it all at once. We'll be getting something smaller to tow much more easily with a half ton truck. We love to camp, but hate the time we have to spend inside. Working on building a class B van right now.Response by CPO Donald Crisp made Dec 29 at 2015 11:21 AM2015-12-29T11:21:34-05:002015-12-29T11:21:34-05:00LTC Matthew Tieszen1220256

We've always used an exterior inline filter as well as a water pressure regulator (had not heard of these until a buddy blew out a line after hooking up once).
Least favorite things : The sewer line/poop tube... draining/cleaning/storing... its ... its icky... :)

Current issues: The family of mice that moved into it while we have it stored. Getting after them with traps/sticky pads and the 'internet recommended' dryer sheets and peppermint oil. I think we've pretty much beat them and the camper smells AWESOME!!!

In all seriousness I'm pretty happy with it. I could probably use a bit more practice and skill in backing it up and KNOW I could use a little bit more patience with the wife as she uses her typical "I'm swatting at flies" methodology of giving hand signals. I may look into running a wireless backup camera for the back of the trailer.

Another good site (or at least interesting and full of ideas) is modmyrv.net

*Edit: Also, for those that may be thinking about getting one... don't scrimp on the weight distribution set up or on anti-Sway... A lot of the new trucks have an anti-sway setting and , although my experience is limited to 2 vehicles with it, it doesnt match a good hitch anti-sway setup.Response by LTC Matthew Tieszen made Jan 7 at 2016 9:07 AM2016-01-07T09:07:03-05:002016-01-07T09:07:03-05:002015-12-27T16:02:32-05:00
