for those of you who have been recently (2021) what is BLC like and what do you really do?

Separated into Platoon/Squads. Each class room is considered a platoon. Then in each platoon you are put into squads. Usually two squads, pending the size of troops in your classroom. You will partake in classroom instruction covering the basics of being an NCO. I can't remember all the classes, but 3 that I remember are D&C, PRT, and Admin tasks (this included writing a 638 and a counseling form). There are several leadership positions you could be given, but everyone will pretty much get rolled into Squad Leader (the graded position). You will give a briefing based on a list of different topics. Classroom discussion. D&C, PRT, and In Ranks Inspections are graded hands on portions.

Sadly, from my experience, it is just a very BASIC course. All things the SFC below are correct from my experience. I was just expecting a whole lot more than what I got. All jokes aside it's what you put into it but thinks of it like your first year, first-class in a community college, and that's BLC for you. I'm not trying to DOG them or anything I just think the curriculum should be more intense, you should have to earn it, It feels given to you. Best of luck and like I said it's what you put in that gives the result of what you get out!
