The services may be making reductions in specialties, but DHA is an “Agency” with title 10 Authorities, however, we cannot dictate the Services readiness when it comes to recruiting/retention/force structure. I would advise you to look toward the Army Medical Department as they have the answers to that question. It also would then reduce the ability to remove 68 series out of hospitals which in turn hurts capability of them being able to maintain a continuity of care. You will still see 68 series doing their thing in CSHs, FSTs, etc. They just want more civilians like LPNs, Radiology techs etc to fill those positions in clinics and hospitals who care for a larger population of family members and retirees. However I did hear that DHA is looking to get rid of all specialty AOCs, mainly ones that rarely deploy. Army is moving towards &quot;be deployable or get the f out&quot; SSG Kasius McCall Wed, 03 Apr 2019 17:21:26 -0400 2019-04-03T17:21:26-04:00 Response by PV2 Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 9 at 2019 9:04 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/for-those-of-you-who-do-know-dha-is-said-to-be-getting-rid-of-most-68-series-how-long-until-these-changes-happen?n=4530430&urlhash=4530430 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Per Fortbragg DENTAC (rough translation) Specialty dentistry, ie. orthodontics, pediatric, will be phased out due to them not being necessarily deployable and will simply be an off post referral type of thing. DHA will consist of Army, Airforce, and the Navy and will incorporate all the medical MOSs. So medical will in a sense be a ‘branch’. As for us 68E, we will be assigned to field units and simply work in the clinics per usual. The 82nd already has this in motion as well as half the doctors assigned to DENTAC have already received orders to 257 and are deploying next month. So overall to answer your question, no you shouldn’t stress losing your MOS but you should expect to be attached to a field unit.
