When this question was proposed to our unit MFT all he stated was that's what they were taught in the class.Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 11 at 2015 7:05 AM2015-12-11T07:05:08-05:002015-12-11T07:05:08-05:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member1167732<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Nothing says you really have to do anything. An FM is a guide, not a reg. You're a Sergeant, can't you research a reg?Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 11 at 2015 9:48 AM2015-12-11T09:48:31-05:002015-12-11T09:48:31-05:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member1167859<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Reference FM 7-22 chapter 8. 5-10 reps done at a slow cadence, excluding the high jumper and pushup which are done at a moderate cadence. The reps are based off of whichever phase of PRT your unit/platoon/squad is currently in. No mention is made of having to an even or odd number in between 5-10 reps.Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 11 at 2015 10:42 AM2015-12-11T10:42:29-05:002015-12-11T10:42:29-05:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member1167957<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Your the NCO in charge of prt for that day, YOU are the instructor, no one but the 1sg or commander (or higher) could/should interrupt your pet session because of a number of repititions. As SFC Boyd stated, the fm is just a guide, but you can do however many reps you want.Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 11 at 2015 11:25 AM2015-12-11T11:25:22-05:002015-12-11T11:25:22-05:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member1172613<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Based off of the progression of PRT, you do the amount of repetitions needed for the overall development. In other words, if you are doing a run day do more reps of rear lunge, high jumper, etc. Just make sure you stay within the 5-10 reps.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 13 at 2015 4:04 PM2015-12-13T16:04:12-05:002015-12-13T16:04:12-05:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member1176103<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>So to clarify my question, I have always been told that during the prep drills you have to do the same amount of reps for each drill, that you can't do 5 reps of some and then 10 reps of others. I have looked in the FM and tried finding where this would be but could not find it. So I figured I would ask.Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 15 at 2015 1:08 AM2015-12-15T01:08:34-05:002015-12-15T01:08:34-05:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member1193491<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>FM 7-22. Most units Ive been in do 10 of each for two reasons: 1 because they are in the sustainment phase and 2. uniformity. Even though right now with two different prt uniforms to include the two different colors of socks it's a 1SG's worst nightmare during PRT formation.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 1 at 2016 8:03 PM2016-01-01T20:03:25-05:002016-01-01T20:03:25-05:002015-12-11T03:23:42-05:00
