The combined costs of OIF and OEF (all 6 of them) between 2001 and 2013 was only 1.7 trillion. That's $141 billion annually. The VA budget for 2013, for example was $61 billion or about 40% of what was spent on operations that same year.

I like the message but I have to think about all Americans. Sanders wants a major hike in tax at 90 percent of something. Whether that is pointed at the rich or not, that will effect everything one, not just the rich. He wants to give everything away for free for votes.

All he is doing is restating what a lot of Republicans have said all along. He is another Socialist idiot that says we should do it with not plan on how. All the free programs they were propagating during the debate, were going to be funded by those who are able and can work, also pay taxes. These "free" programs are not free; the money has to come from somewhere to pay for it.
Where will he get the funds? Cut benefits for welfare and illegal immigrants? Not likely as all the welfare people have a tendency to vote Democratic in elections.

Has he looked at the current 2016 budget request?
"The President’s 2016 Budget includes $168.8 billion for VA in 2016. This includes $70.2 billion in discretionary resources and $95.3 billion in mandatory funding. Our discretionary budget request represents an increase of $5.2 billion, or 7.5 percent, over the 2015 enacted level."

He is just using the populist propaganda used by the Dems all the time. The VA is totally incompetent in the use of existing funds.
