For all of the IT pro's out there, what are some of your biggest challenges regarding users?

We had a pretty good sized IT shop which I was probably the most senior non-IT type GS they liked. So I was part of their monthly AA (Attitude Adjustment) Meetings at the bar. The help desk folk would always bemoan:

1. Users who wouldn't check to see if their machine was plugged in, etc.
2. Users who wanted them to bypass their CAC because they forgot it.
3. Users who poured coffee into places it shouldn't go.
4. Users who won't go to training and then bitch about stuff they should have known.
5. Users who wouldn't back up critical files and then want the Help Desk to create them.

The list is endless, but the beer was great!

I'm personally amazed that in two-thousand-phreaking-SIXTEEN, that we have people that are still so totally computer illiterate that they should be referring to computers as, "The Magic Box That Beeps."

- A friend cut the cord off of his mouse so he could have a cordless mouse...
- There are STILL a huge number of people out there that think CD/DVD drives are hide-away coffee cup holders.
- The number of people that don't understand that a power outage renders computers inert.
- "I didn't download anything. I just clicked that linky thing."

vocabulary! people like to define exactly what they think they want using words they do not fully understand then get mad when what they wanted is not what they needed.
