It's great when I catch one and relaxing when I don't. Trout fishing seems to have a technique all it's own and I'll admit it...I'm too lazy to learn it! One, I like the strategy involved in picking the right lure and right color for the time of year, weather, lake conditions, etc. Two, I have never been trout or fly fishing. If I had to choose my favorite, it would have to be deep sea fishing though. Nothing like being out on the ocean dragging huge saltwater fish out of the water. She had one of those lil' poles made for youngsters with corn on it to attract the trout. She caught a very nice large mouth bass as her first fish. Just proves that one can never tell what they are going to catch when they throw a line in the water. Of course one would have to be fishing in the first place if they expected to catch anything. It's inexpensive to get started and easy to get to trout areas (no boat required). Also, I didn't have friends who fished for bass. When living in Oklahoma, I started bass fishing since the waters are typically too warm for trout. Also, my neighbor took me out for bass fishing. Better fighting fish. The adrenaline rush as that big ol trout starts ripping the line from your reel as you follow it back down stream, lifting your rod trying to turn him back around hoping your 6lb fluorocarbon leader doesn't break.
