I realize it is a show of solidarity against N. Korea, but what happens with future command? This brings them into the fold and allows us and the ROK army to be even better prepared to work together. The 82nd now has a deputy commander of interoperability, a British one-star, who coordinates efforts between the 82nd and the British Parachute Regiment and other entities.

I do doubt though that you will ever see anything like this in which the US is not in command. Nothing totally new! Plus, Korean soldiers (KATUSAs) have been assigned to American units since the Korean War.
