Ive never heard of selling leave unless you are redeploying or something in that nature. That was probably one time when I heard something about selling leave.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 28 at 2016 9:00 AM2016-10-28T09:00:21-04:002016-10-28T09:00:21-04:00CW2 Private RallyPoint Member2019731<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Yes it's common any time we go on orders over 30 days. The school house S-1 / finance should take care of everything for you. You should see an LES noting Accrued leave about a month after your orders end.Response by CW2 Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 28 at 2016 9:30 AM2016-10-28T09:30:33-04:002016-10-28T09:30:33-04:00PO1 Private RallyPoint Member2019789<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You get leave in the Reserve? I thought that you were allowed said days for Authorized Absenses or Reskeds; must be something different the Army does.Response by PO1 Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 28 at 2016 9:47 AM2016-10-28T09:47:09-04:002016-10-28T09:47:09-04:00MSG Pat Colby2020014<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>There are many issues with using the Leave accrued. BAH, BAS, UCMJ, potential for illness or injury, etc... It is possible to use the 30 (+2.5 accrued while on Leave) days but very unlikely. It's easier and a much cleaner slate when you just sell the days back.<br /><br />An example of when they will HAVE to allow you to use the Leave is if you have already Sold Back Leave. I'm pretty sure the cap is 45 days in your career.Response by MSG Pat Colby made Oct 28 at 2016 10:51 AM2016-10-28T10:51:19-04:002016-10-28T10:51:19-04:00Capt Private RallyPoint Member2020065<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Once you end active duty and return to the Reserves. what good is the leave? Sell it, take the money and enjoy.Response by Capt Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 28 at 2016 11:06 AM2016-10-28T11:06:47-04:002016-10-28T11:06:47-04:00CW3 Private RallyPoint Member2026195<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You either have to sell the leave, or get your orders extended in order to use the leave. When I came back from Afghanistan, I had my orders extended in order to use the accrued leave so I still got paid while I traveled around to see friends and family. I would probably do the same thing if I ever got deployed again. It's better than selling back the leave, because selling it you only get basic pay....using it you get paid including allowances....Response by CW3 Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 30 at 2016 8:08 PM2016-10-30T20:08:44-04:002016-10-30T20:08:44-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member2160888<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>No, but I was active when I re-classed to Respiratory.
