Fighting ISIS with Music?? Seriously, how do you think these ANIMALS feel about this song?

It is a great attempt at peace, but ISIS will look at this as propaganda and now her life is on the line. I hope the very best for her... I wish it could be that simple.

I absolutely LOVED the Kurdish people. We actually landed in Erbil in 2003. They need their own state. Very sad, the stories I heard from them and of the actual area that the Mustard gas had fallen when Hussein was their "Leader." Man, just women, kids and grandparents... gone. Much Respect

Sometimes art takes courage. She wouldn't be the first female musician in the ME to be targeted. I doubt Daesh cares much though. She was toast if they ever got their hands on her anyway. This is mostly intended for everyone else.

SGT Private RallyPoint Member I don't know if I can even comment about this article. This will definitely not stop ISIS and it will be a matter of time before they try to eliminate her if she is not careful. Sometimes I really try to look past the hype and try to figure out the real purpose behind this. She couldn’t make it in America, so she is making Internationally. If her true purpose is what she says it is, then my hats off to her and I hope she stays safe or we'll be reading about her in a different way! That's all I can say about that!

SGT Private RallyPoint Member, I certainly hope that the Kurdish people will be able to "get" a homeland where they can speak their language without fear of persecution [as the Turks did for so many years], worship and associate freely and be able to raise their families securely.
After the ottoman Turkish empire was broken up at the conclusion of WWI , those with influence were granted pieces of the Turkish empire so that Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, etc were granted their own kingdoms and Armenia was established after the brutal Turks [whom Hitler declared his admiration for because they had killed so many Armenians] killed roughly 2 Million men, women and children while WWI was being fought.
I hope that this Kurdish pop-star's song can be translated into the languages of most of the ISIS foreign fighters and through a virus be looped for periods of time and amplified when earplugs or headphones are used. Since ISIS is so intent on erasing history, it would be nice to inflict them with a song or two to help them see that with no history they may be subjected to whatever is on the airways at the present :-)

She is not singing to have peace she is sing to encourage kurdish fighters to kill all of ISIS to have peace. She even fired a tank, I think it was, at an ISIS position in one of her music videos. She is doing this to bring awareness of the Kurds fighting ISIS. Kinda like an MWR tour for the Kurdish Fighters.

I was in Erbil in 03. But there really wasn't a base there. It was a compound. You might know what I am talking about.

There is a lot of symbolism in the video. Symbols about religion, status, strength, wealth, support, regionalism.... There is definitely an intended message in the video and song.

It's nice for this artist to be positive but it's more important to be realistic... No song will stop a war, stop hate, or change ideas that have been in place for thousands of years.

I think it is a Great and Useful Tool Against Religious Zealots. Some of these Countries have wonderful Musical Traditions but the Extremist Condemn anything that doesn't fall under their Sharia. I love Persian Music. I follow quite a bit of the Expat Iranian Music out of L.A. I am also reminded of the Sufi's in Turkey and the Whirling Dervishes. Now that is my way of Worshipping, Dance until you are crazy dizzy.

I've been doing similar things, using some music while on patrols, and sometimes shooting at Alqaeda types, on my tours to Iraq and Afghanistan.

New headline in the news today! Kurdish-pop-star found dead. The body of the Kurdish pop star was discovered with and object crammed deeply into her third point of contact. A team of proctologist worked for hours to remove the object and found it contained the lyrics to her recently released beauty song which some see as a failed attempt to change the mind set of radical terrorist leaders. As a side note, her head seamed to be mysteriously separated from the rest of her body. Officials state it was the worst case of suicide they had ever seen. When interviewing several ISIS members they commented "OH, We thought she came that way?"
