Are the Reserves really hurting that bad for 03's that they are fast-tracking LTs to Captain?

Essentially that's what's happening right? Are the Reserves and National Guard really hurting that bad for 03's?

They were short-handed as it is when I was in. I'm sure POTUS Brandon forcing everybody to get the vaccine or get out didn't matters any.

I retired just before this all came down. I had to go to the chaplain and I decide all kinds of documentation but by the time it would have gone to the to the Secretary of the army, I would have been retired for 4 months. Piss poor leadership at the top basically took four divisions away of personnel.

President broke back Biden and his minions ruined everything they touch and the effects readiness but they have no problem bragging about 360 billion taking in the fake inflation reduction act and use that to bribe other countries to switch away from fossil fuels when that money could have been used to restock our depleted ammunition inventory as well as keep 24 ships out of the reserve Fleet but the stupid Administration thinks that climate change is the biggest existential threat when a limited nuclear war could throw away all that money set aside for golf Delta climate change.

I recall in 2007 to about 2010 but there was a $10,000 bonus for captains to stay in. I was a civil affairs Captain and the op-tempo was so bad that people were getting out.

Thanks the Draconian vaccine that ironically got the president and the First Lady and the prime minister of Canada and his first lady sick more than once even with all the boosters. Our own government purposely try to censor that getting the vaccine would prevent you from transmitting it to others and that's a total lie. I am 60 years old and I never got the vaccine and my wife has gotten sick twice and I only got sick once with covid-19. So now the chickens are coming to roost because retention is in the toilet because you have thousands of enlisted an officers who were kicked out yet the rules were changed to allow relaxing the covid-19 vaccine for those for wanting to get in. I wonder if they're ever going to change the rule under this Administration for those who got kicked out for not getting the experimental vaccine? I guess we'll have to wait until we get a Republican President.

Just think how many lieutenants you could recruit in ROTC if you would take the money that President Biden wants to forgive student loans for those Progressive weenies or irresponsible Republicans going for masters or phds who can afford it. I think it's like $800 million dollars plus that President Biden wants to give away and reward bad behavior for those who didn't pay their college loans. Just think if you have taken that money and put it toward retention, put it toward ROTC scholarships, put it toward bonuses and recruiting.

But I bet you General Milliey and his white rage would rather suck up to President Biden and push critical race Theory through all the service Academies.

I don't see anything here that says they are considering anyone outside the Zone. It clearly states eligible. That's not a very hard standard, a degree, a Basic Course, 4 years time in service and 2 years
time in grade.

That's a regular promotion board announcement. There's nothing indicating any form of timeline acceleration.

Looking at the zones of consideration for non AGR reserve component officer (1 SEP 18 thru 31 AUG 19 for ARNG and 1 DEC 19 thru 31 MAY 21), the board will look 1LT ARNG officers with roughly 3 years 8 months thru 4 years 8 months TIG and 1LT USAR officers between 2 years and 3 years 5 months.

The FY22 CPT board had an eligibility window for 1 SEP 17 thru 31 AUG 18 for ARNG and 1 SEP 18 thru 30 NOV 19 for USAR. That is roughly 3 years 8 months thru 4 years 8 months for ARNG and 2 years 5 months thru 3 years 8 months for USAR.

For FY21 it was the same zones as the FY22 board for ARNG and USAR officers.

So, compared to last years board, there is no change for ARNG officers and a SLIGHT reduction for USAR officers. So TECHNICALLY you could say that HRC if 'fast tracking' USAR promotions because the eligibility zone was reduced FOR THIS YEAR'S BOARD by five months.

However, I am unaware of any broad policy shift and there's been no change in the regulation (which only stipulates that you must have a two year TIG as 1LT to be promoted to CPT)

[ BTW, yes, USAR officers have a reduced TIG than ARNG officers ... HRC sets the promotion eligibility zones based on the needs of the component (COMPO 3 [USAR] in this case)]

My experience with Company officer shortages, was accelerated AUS promotions. Officers went from 2LT to 1 LT in 12 months, a year later to CPT if agreed to serve on AD for another year. At the end of 36 months, REFRAD as a 1LT USAR with 0 TIG. Also, increased output of 90 day wonders through OCS, and each branch had its own.
