I was thinking it means I'll be assigned to one of the subordinate units.<br /><br />They haven't assigned a sponsor to me and I'm still waiting on orders.ERB says I'm projected for assignment to W3VZAA, but my 1SG says there are no slots there for my rank. There may be someone there that is in the process of being slotted for a PCS of their own.Response by SGT Joseph Gunderson made Oct 17 at 2018 10:14 PM2018-10-17T22:14:02-04:002018-10-17T22:14:02-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member4054594<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You’ll probably be getting there right before someone leaves or right after to fill the slot they left. Or if you get there and they don’t have it they’ll do an inter-battalion 4187 transferring you to another unit that needs your MOS and rank. But 90% of the time they’ll just keep you at the assigned unit depending on MOSResponse by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 17 at 2018 10:34 PM2018-10-17T22:34:58-04:002018-10-17T22:34:58-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member4054624<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>PCS'ing can be a trying time. I wouldn't read into it too much if they have slots or not, if they Army is telling you that you are leaving, then you are leaving. As others have pointed out, you are probably filling a slot right after someone else leaves, so seeing if that slot is available today is meaningless. Just make sure to make your appointments, if your married and want to live on post make sure to put in for housing ASAP, and have a positive attitude. The Army is all about new beginnings, just keep an open mind.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 17 at 2018 10:48 PM2018-10-17T22:48:39-04:002018-10-17T22:48:39-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member4054660<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You're S1 won't find slots because they're looking at open requisitions. You're on a filled requisition and if they wanted they can look at your requisition number to see that's where you are assigned.<br />AMEDD C&S is a big places and covers several battalions. Your assignment will always project you to a higher level (usually brigade level) and when you arrive you receive orders to the subordinate command you'll be assigned to.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 17 at 2018 11:04 PM2018-10-17T23:04:12-04:002018-10-17T23:04:12-04:00SFC Bob Johnson4059822<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Call your assignment manager and ask...Response by SFC Bob Johnson made Oct 20 at 2018 12:13 AM2018-10-20T00:13:13-04:002018-10-20T00:13:13-04:002018-10-17T22:04:29-04:00
