My idea is to just sell/throw away the stuff I can’t take if they schedule me past the 30th. I was just curious what happens if they show up and I’m not there? If I’m not able to cancel.<br />Appreciate any helpful info.During PCS what happens if your House Hold Goods are scheduled for pick-up but you leave prior to them getting there?2018-06-06T17:21:50-04:00PVT(P) Aaron M. Do you have anyone available that could be there if you are not? I wish I had more input to give to you. I hope that helps at least a little.Response by SFC Steven Borders made Jun 6 at 2018 5:38 PM2018-06-06T17:38:05-04:002018-06-06T17:38:05-04:00CPT Private RallyPoint Member3690918<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The same thing happened to me. I had to request an amendment to my orders to push my report date out a couple of weeks. <br /><br />HHG is contracted through the transportation office, and the army pays big money for their services. You need to be there when they inventory and pack out in case of any liability issues. Otherwise, you might be able to do a power of attorney to allow someone else to be there on your behalf. You'll need to talk to legal to make it happen, and coordinate with the PPO/Transportation office.Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Jun 6 at 2018 9:23 PM2018-06-06T21:23:23-04:002018-06-06T21:23:23-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member3691686<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Is your housing on post? You still have to clear housing before you can leave. It's probably smartest to just cut your leave short and leave after the 2nd.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jun 7 at 2018 7:50 AM2018-06-07T07:50:38-04:002018-06-07T07:50:38-04:00LTC Mark Overberg3692996<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Make sure your transportation office knows your lease is up the 30th. They can select from different companies. Another option is having a different company put your stuff in temp storage locally till the 1st company can haul it to your new duty station. But temp storage is where things come up missing unless they pack you out into crates. In any case, you or a person who is authorized to sign the inventory for you must be there on the pack out date. If you like your stuff, be there. Best to talk to your transportation office early and often.Response by LTC Mark Overberg made Jun 7 at 2018 5:47 PM2018-06-07T17:47:23-04:002018-06-07T17:47:23-04:002018-06-06T17:21:50-04:00
