We have no dependents and our orders state “This assignment is for Tour Equity (12 months) to serve at the same location with spouse and is not a Join Domicile Assignment.” With that being said, we will be in the barracks. Would we be able to get our own barracks room being that we are married? I’m a SGT (P) she’s a SPC. A few companies share building depending on the size of that particular unit. You might not even be assigned to the same barracksResponse by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made May 5 at 2020 11:52 AM2020-05-05T11:52:17-04:002020-05-05T11:52:17-04:00MAJ Private RallyPoint Member5853505<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Check the brigade policies. I saw one online from 35 air defense from 2017 allowing married couples to occupy the same barracks room if approved in writing by the battalion commander...<br />Definitely need to check with both chain of commands.Response by MAJ Private RallyPoint Member made May 5 at 2020 12:10 PM2020-05-05T12:10:07-04:002020-05-05T12:10:07-04:00CSM Darieus ZaGara5853575<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>A lot of factors involved. Do they have Coed barracks, are you going to the same Company, cannot have separate command authority. Anything is possible. I would stay the process now, at least you will be in the commands radar. If you are in separate company’s I would send the request the the Battalion CSM, separate Battalions sent to the BDE CSM.Response by CSM Darieus ZaGara made May 5 at 2020 12:22 PM2020-05-05T12:22:08-04:002020-05-05T12:22:08-04:00SGT(P) Abner Lozano5854317<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I saw this happen when I was on Camp Casey. Twice. In the same Battalion. On one occasion they were both Sergeants. On the second occasion, one was a SGT and the other a SPC non promotable. Although they might have to put you in different Companies [Batteries in my case], if you have a memorandum or Exemption to Policy signed by your O-5, you are authorized to have a barracks room together. However, this was at a time when the curfew was still in play. Might be different now. I would talk with your sponsor and see what they can find out for you. But being in the same BDE would definitely be a big help.Response by SGT(P) Abner Lozano made May 5 at 2020 4:38 PM2020-05-05T16:38:46-04:002020-05-05T16:38:46-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member5858398<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>As long as you’re in the barracks and you’re in a non-joint domicile tour, you will not share a room together.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made May 6 at 2020 5:55 PM2020-05-06T17:55:55-04:002020-05-06T17:55:55-04:001SG Private RallyPoint Member5865565<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>There is no hard fast answer here. It is going to be command centric as what is and is not going to be allowed. It is also going to depend on where in Korea you are assigned. It has been a while since I have been in Korea, but we had Soldier's that were in a similar situation as you. The first time I was at Camp Casey and married couples were not allowed to share a room in the barracks, so an exception to policy (ETP) was submitted to live off post and it was granted. The second time I was at Camp Humphreys, while they were no allowed to live in the barracks, they were granted permission to live in military family housing on post. Again an ETP had to be submitted, and it got approved. If you have a sponsor reach out to them, if you do not have a sponsor request one. Sponsors are a great resource to utilize.Response by 1SG Private RallyPoint Member made May 8 at 2020 1:10 PM2020-05-08T13:10:14-04:002020-05-08T13:10:14-04:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member6821445<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>hi, just got to Korea and im dual. did yall get seperated or stayed in the barracks ?Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 13 at 2021 8:52 PM2021-03-13T20:52:57-05:002021-03-13T20:52:57-05:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member7312909<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Did you go through MACP?Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 8 at 2021 11:01 PM2021-10-08T23:01:04-04:002021-10-08T23:01:04-04:002020-05-05T09:40:09-04:00
