I joined the military out of duty and because of the enticing benefits package for education. When I started getting serious and taking classes with tuition assistance, I was a bit put-off by the $4500 annual limit but I understood the financial drain education is on our already strained system. <div><br></div><div>Now though, I am very frustrated. With the new TA guidelines and requirements, people are also now limited to not only the $4500 but 16 credits taken annually as well. I have done some forecasting. My original plan kept in mind the monetary limitation. Now with my adjusted plan with the credit limitation in place, I have to push back my projected graduation by a semester or two. It could very well be three depending on what classes I take for my minor since some are only available during certain semesters. </div><div><br></div><div>As stated above, I understand the $4500 annual limit. I know it's trivial, but I could potentially squeeze out another class this year under the $4500 but would break the 16 mark. <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Blame it on the budget. The same reason the Army/Military is reducing in size. Everything is about money! It seems as if cutting TA is one of the easiest ways to save. It is unfortunate that they decide to limit our educational benefits though.
