Dorothy Bland; was this racism, or a journalist just trying to stir up something as an experiment?

The Dean of Journalism at the University of North Texas was walking down the street, impeding traffic. Two officer stop her and advise her to walk on the other side of the street. She writes an opinion for the local paper turning it into a race-baiting event. Read her article, the chief of police response, and watch the video.

I think she just wanted something to talk about in class. But, could it be that she is just so determined that the police are always racist criminals that she actually saw it that way? Me... I think a lot of journalist are rating-baiters. They do not care what the truth is...

I think her ethics should be questioned by her students... and maybe her employers...

In my opinion if she was walking in the street impending traffic, then yes, she was trying to stir trouble.

She seems like sort of a smart ass. The officers were very civil with her. I might have given her a citation just because of her attitude. Might have given her a field sobriety test along with it. Anyone walking in the middle of the street in the rain has some sort of problem.

CW5 Jim Steddum - It has gotten to the point that, any time a black person is stopped by the police, it is automatically assumed to be racial profiling by some. This is clearly a situation where the "victim" is seizing this opportunity to push the liberal media racist agenda. She lied about the details of the incident and would have had no qualms if the police officers had been fired because of her lies. She should be fired...

I have to admit, after watching the video, I would have been a little "concerned" seeing her in the road walking like that when there are perfectly good sidewalks... And would have been a little "concerned" if she was on the side walk walking like that... Not to mention, we can't tell what color she is from the back... But she did look odd as hell walking in the road like that...

It was stupidity. Ethics seems to be lost on those who should me most accountable for their actions. She did nothing to bring anything positive to a subject of race which is a subject that need that needs objectivity and fair review. Instead she made herself an example of why we cannot get clear educated unbiased discussion and review on the subject - STUPIDITY. I guess she does not realize the knife cuts both ways. Walking in the middle of the street with a hoodie up and ear buds makes you a target to be road kill. They were doing their job and getting her butt out of the street. (Some people have no self preservation skills).

Look, There is a problem and it does need to be addressed. I experienced racial profiling quite a few times while living in Florida, however I have have more good experiences than bad with cops. But there are way too many instigators on both sides of the subject to make any head way. She is an example of an instigator.

She went out of her way to turn this into a "racial" issue. She was in the wrong and the officers had the right to ticket her.

This all started because she is a self entitled twit. She was wearing a hoodie so they could not even see her race until they stopped her. The Officers should sue her and also she should be removed from her position because she has proven she is not a person that should be allowed in leadership!
If it were me I would have had a law suit delivered to her door
