They'd figure out a way. The thing about criminals is they already believe they're above the law. Their MO is to find a way around the law. A wall wouldn't be any different.

They are doing the tunneling thing today. :-) What's the political reason / focus on Mexico? Unwanted / illegal activity (drugs, guns, undocumented aliens, etc...) is happening on every side of the US. Canada & US Border is just as active.

It seems that the consensus is that we should make no effort to stop crime because the bad guys will always find a way to continue to commit their crimes. If so we could save a hell of a lot of money by just making everything legal and doing away with all law enforcement agencies.

I have a lock on my front door at the house, will it stop a determined burglar,no....Will it slow them down,let them know I am serious about keeping them out, yes...The "wall",,,doesnt necessarily have to be a wall, it could be several types of obstacles in depth , wire,fence,ditches etc...as long as they are maintained,in depth and overwatched they could absolutely work, cheap and effective wire obstacles/ditches, and natural terrain features could easily become part of the "wall". Stop the flow 100%, of course not, slow it down to a manageable level, absolutely...............

It could be like searching for a needle in a haystack, would one rather have 100 straws or 10. My tinfoil hat idea is to have the drone monitor the border as well, because of the ways it they can detect human activity, unless of course they were sold or someone used an incendiary on them haha

Of course it won't stop it all since the majority who are here illegally are violating their visa status. That said, making a barrier that slows the illegal flow of people into this sovereign country is prudent.

They are already tunneling under walls in urban areas where walls exists. As long as there is significant demand for cheap labor, willing to work in dangerous and/or difficult conditions on this side of the border and a lot of desperate people willing to do anything to survive on the other side of the border... no wall can keep them out.

When Israel built there with the number of attacks inside of Israel severely dropped. There will be continued methods of smuggling whether it's above ground at the ground below ground in the water. We will adapt.

Simply put the wall won't work, it's hard to fathom how big our border is with Mexico. Wall extensions would be great! Make my job easier..the key is agents. We need more ground pounding agents. Cameras, ground sensors and walls are great but you can only force multiply up to a certain percentage.its kinda like saying the Air Force can win a war... while the air Force may almost win you will still need a good number of boots on the ground to actually hold territory and win.

My opinion with my experience on the border...give us more helicopters and agents, double our ground sensors and we will be able to multiply our work three fold.. other than that we are going to have to accept a lesser apprehension rate. ( In my area of the border)

I would have a wall, 1000 feet underground, and 1000 feet above ground. That is, after using nukes to blow up the border, so that we would have a 500 foot deep waterway between us and Mexico. We would place Patriot anti air stuff along the top of the wall. Then also, place a kazillion alligators and sharks in that waterway. We continue to build such a wall around the US of A, using nukes to create a waterway on the Canadian border. The wall would be there, but this time, place mooses with waterwings that have been trained to attack anyone that is trying to approach our wall. Patriots, again. Outlaw any aircraft approaching the US, including airliners. Also, one gate to Canada and one to Mexico, that would only allow illegals to cross back into those places. Automatic machine guns on our side, to take out people from within the US that try to damage our walls. Minefields. With nuclear weapons set to blow up if humans or cats try to approach our walls. And some very nice signage placed on the outside of those walls, saying something like 'The USA is Great! Now, go back to where you came from! Have a Nice Day!' Oh, I almost forgot. We have the walls built by illegals that have already penetrated our borders, before sending them back. No pay, because Trump did say that Mexico would pay for our wall. Since the President of Mexico said that Mexico will not pay for a wall, that would be our way of saying, 'Yep, you guys just did build our wall. In your face, vato!"
