PFC Private RallyPoint Member6999629<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am currently a 14S. I’ve done Basic and AIT. I want to go to college and commission through ROTC and go AD. I know Officer Candidate(Cadets) obviously does not count for TIG when being considered for promotion, but what about my ALL TOGETHER TIS? For example I have one year now, and I do four in college. Does that mean I now have 5 Years time in service because I am a cadet but am prior service?Does your 09R time count towards time in service in the Army?2021-05-24T15:31:19-04:00PFC Private RallyPoint Member6999629<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am currently a 14S. It should be based on your Pay Entry Base Date (PEBD) on your Enlisted Record Brief (ERB).Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made May 24 at 2021 3:37 PM2021-05-24T15:37:39-04:002021-05-24T15:37:39-04:00CPT Lawrence Cable6999719<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>If you are SMP through your ROTC time, it will count towards your TIS. <br />Since you are MOS qualified, you should be exempt from the first two years of ROTC if you chose to skip them and then join in Junior year.Response by CPT Lawrence Cable made May 24 at 2021 3:57 PM2021-05-24T15:57:41-04:002021-05-24T15:57:41-04:00LTC Private RallyPoint Member6999767<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>SMP time in the guard or reserve counts for time in service.Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made May 24 at 2021 4:27 PM2021-05-24T16:27:51-04:002021-05-24T16:27:51-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member7000470<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You'll only receive credit for pay purposes if you're contracted as an enlisted Soldier in the SMP, or if you enlist in the ARNG or USAR and then attend college and join the ROTC as a non-scholarship cadet. If you end up doing Title 10 orders what we call MPA and you guys call OPADOS or COADOS orders, that time should count. Your time in basic and AIT will count as that was under title 10 active duty orders. If you are participating in the unit as a regular or SMP, that time does count toward your time service brackets for pay but not for active retirement unless its title 10 ADOS duty, which I would be surprised if an SMP would be able to get. You would be an O1E in the 4 year bracket until the next year where you would roll over to the 6 year pay bracket.Response by Lt Col Private RallyPoint Member made May 29 at 2021 11:18 AM2021-05-29T11:18:03-04:002021-05-29T11:18:03-04:002021-05-24T15:31:19-04:00
