It's no more offensive than anyone wearing an American flag hat, shirt, karate pants, etc... She's a proud American, who happens to be of Muslim faith. Good for her.

No it does not offend me. Maybe she can start a movement within her community. As far as I'm concerned, as long as it is done without disrespect there's no problem. I was confused by the stand alone bikini picture when you mentioned Hijab.

Well, I would definitely be in support of her wearing it as a hijab than I would if she were standing on it... Let's just say that in this case, I would support the lesser of two evils...
And I mean no disrespect when I say this, but just because I may agree with it doesn't mean I don't believe she/he is still capable of setting off a bomb or two...

Therefore, both women should remove the offending articles immediately.*

Yeah I don't like either of the ways those ladies are wearing the flag. I generally don't like the use of the flag as anything but a flag. Of course it's their choice. I'm not a fan of infringing on symbolic speech either.

We wear it on our shirts, underwear, bikinis, etc. Why shouldn't be worn as a hijab as well. I'm rather happy to see this rather than some knuckle head using his religious or ethnic back ground as means to trample on it.
