Does the guard have to pay you to quarantine per CDC guidelines if you are exposed to COVID at drill?

I doubt it, but I was asked and now have to explain why not to someone else and I'm at a loss.

I would run the question up your chain of Command. They would be able to speak to any policy that would determine the answer

I doubt this would be a go. The CDC does not recommend/require a person be paid during any type of quarantine. Most company, including the one I run, do not pay for employees that get sick and have to miss work; they can use PTO time if they want paid. I would also argue, there is absolutely no way to be sure they got COVID while on a normal M-DAY drill... the virus can sit in your system for up to 10 days before you show symptoms. So for all they know they are the ones the exposed everyone else. Of course that is just my opinion, and I could be 100% wrong. Interested in hearing how it goes though.. LOL

Yes for some related situations….So… if someone during drill suddenly develops symptoms and tests positive while at BA then yes they can be put on orders if they cannot go home to quarantine safely.
Notice the “can”, “if”, etc Aka CDR discretion There is nothing in policy S far as I am tracking and I’ve been the guy tracking for the last 23 months of this sh$t

I believe that if a soldier incurs an occupational injury while on drill, or another paid status, and the injury prevents the solider from returning to their civilian job then they have to kept on orders so as to compensate them. I don't believe that a COVID exposure is effectively any different than a soldier breaking a limb at drill for these purposes.

There is in fact policy addressing pay for Service members that are exposed to COVID and forced to quarantine, incurring financial loss due to lack of civilian employer based coverage. If I can find the NGB document I'll post a link. Thanks all-
