Does the Army Reseach Lab (ARL) have military members do research or is it all done by civilians?

I'm currently enlisted in the Guard and in college wanting to get my commission and do research in physics for the Army. I know a lot of medical research is done by those in uniform, and while the ARL does work in the physical sciences I haven't found anything on their website on doing research while still in the service. Any guidance/clarification?

It's a mix of military and civilian personnel.

I did a 3 month TDY as a research volunteer and when i was there the researchers were predominately civilian

Most Officers I have encountered in research I believe were 71B, a lot of them had back grounds in exercise physiology and kinesiology, chemistry or hard science they work side by side with civilians and enlisted 68KP9 ( Biological research assistants) to do testing and write abstracts and technical documents on their projects. Natick is one of those unique places that recruit their officers and enlisted.
