It can’t be used on evaluations at all until further notice. We’ll see if that guidance changes after it reaches FOC in 2022. But right now your score shouldn’t be used to qualify you against your peers.

Keep in mind that this is for official purposes. Your fitness level, among other metrics, can shape leaders’ opinions which may affect your standing for promotions and schools.Response by SGM Private RallyPoint Member made Nov 11 at 2020 6:32 AM2020-11-11T06:32:53-05:002020-11-11T06:32:53-05:00CSM Danny S.6490000

It shouldn't matter if you have an passing ACFT or APFT. All promotion boards I have sat on only looked to see if the score was passing. As for BLC there should be an OML and that takes several things into consideration. The only time I would think it would matter is for a Soldier of the Quarter type board. Then it would be the score and how good it is not whether it is an ACFT or APFT listed. I will say that once we get to the end of 2021 people will start paying attention if you are still using an APFT score versus an ACFT score, but they can't hold it against you until 31Mar22.Response by CSM Danny S. made Nov 11 at 2020 3:54 PM2020-11-11T15:54:39-05:002020-11-11T15:54:39-05:00CPT Private RallyPoint Member6490671

I'm putting more thought into this than I should be, but I think in general (as far as USAR goes) a passing score will help you more than it previously did.

I'm betting the added complexity to administering a "for record" ACFT will cause soldiers to simply fall outside of a "current" record score. With failure rates as they were for APFT the ACFT wont have easily administered monthly follow up "for record" exams for those hoping to turn a previous month fail into a current month pass.

Those that fail will probably have a fail for 6 months despite their best efforts, not to mention those that simply had to miss the for record event for schedule conflicts, and simply drop off having a "current record score".

So those in the USAR with a current pass ACFT score will have a better edge than they previously did with a passing APFT as it pertains to all things influenced by ACFT requirements (schools and promotions).

The question will be, when these trends fully materialize in say 5 years will there be exception to policy waivers to reverse the reduction in promotions and school attendance?Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Nov 11 at 2020 9:03 PM2020-11-11T21:03:46-05:002020-11-11T21:03:46-05:00SGT Jim Ramge, MBA6497327

My first thought is, what is the current APFT Reg? Secondly, being you are within regulation, this is no worse than going in front of the board within AR 670-1 during a uniform conversion! Are you wearing, or did you wear the new while appearing in front of the board? That should satisfy your own question. Just how much weight does it bear upon? Not every soldier is on a parallel standard until the final date of that standard, nor are they supposed to be held accountable for such. Especially at the Junior NCO grades! The sooner the better yes... However all that said, are you being tested on, will you be addressed in appearance of, etc.? Just a few things to consider as you rise thru the ranks... Yes, as you obtain more, more is expected and the higher you go, the sooner you will be expected to either perform or wear! Remember, rank has its privilege as well as its downfall with regards to certain things, such as, Officers pay for their own uniform/gear as NCOs do not! CIF standards are slightly different as well when an O6 is handing in vice an E5. Just saying... Respect and admiration for the brass! Either way, all the best you man... Do your best, and remember, NCOs are the backbone of the Army! Hooah - Served with Pride! Always Out Front...
