I ship out to basic soon, Sept 25, and unfortunately and just now finding out about ACASP. was just doing a little bit of research and came across people saying that when I get to AIT at Fort Sam, I can fast track and rank all the way up to an E-4. I already have my NREMT so I will be fast-tracking, but will I still be able to get promoted to an E-4 when I do or did the whole ACASP thing have to be in my contract? is there anything I can do about it or is it too late for me? <br />Thanks in advance!Does the ACASP have to be in my contract if I hope to fast track at AIT and get advanced promotion to E-4?2018-08-27T02:12:58-04:00PVT Private RallyPoint Member3913835<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Hello all,<br /> I'm in the Ohio Army National Guard and already signed my contract a few months ago. If you have a valid NREMT and BLS you will end up doing a skills test at AIT essentially fast tracking to Whiskey phase. <br />I am not familiar with the the term ACASP but if you enlist with a degree or with work experience you can come in as an E4. I have a friend who came in as an E3 with no degree who had 10+ years experience as a paramedic. She was fast tracked and they helped her fix her rank to e4 while at AIT. Not sure if she got back pay for rank from BCT. When I went to whiskey school we had several who fast tracked but also came in as E4s with their work experience. <br /><br />These people stand out with their skills. They didn’t get in trouble and had excellent PT scores. <br />Check with your recruiter, if they say no, ask at MEPS and present them with your proof of experience. I assume you are going back to MEPS to ship?Response by SGT Victoria Belbusti made Aug 27 at 2018 2:25 AM2018-08-27T02:25:53-04:002018-08-27T02:25:53-04:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member3914122<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Recently I finished up AIT at fort sam, I was a civillian paramedic prior to joining and went through ACASP. I was fast tracked to the company that was closest to whiskey phase and began training with them. I had members in my class that were in the same boat ad you, if you have your NREMT prior to to shipping out, the will fast track you no matter what. The counselor will brief everyone on it during orientation once you get to Fort Sam. As for rank, if you were certified prior to signing your contact, then you will be promoted to E-4 and to my knowledge you will receive back pay for basic aswell. If you were certified after signing your contract you will make E-3. I hope it helps, if you can talk with your recruiter or even the personnel at MEPS, they may be able to help prior to shipping. Hope it helps!Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 27 at 2018 6:43 AM2018-08-27T06:43:06-04:002018-08-27T06:43:06-04:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member3915081<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It wasn't in my contract and I was promoted to e4 that way. The paperwork just takes forever so you'll have to continuously fight for it to go through. Expect to be paid as your current rank until the paperwork is finalized then you will be back paid. They will tax your back pay 20-25% though.Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 27 at 2018 1:08 PM2018-08-27T13:08:13-04:002018-08-27T13:08:13-04:00MSG Les Amaya3915324<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>If you are in the national guard,it depends on the guard. First of all I am sure this has been said already but if not you must ensure that your NREMT is valid up the completion of AIT. (so they can fix your rank) At AIT they will ask anyone with NREMT to raise their hand, you'll be pulled aside, and then they will put you with the next group going into whiskey phase. at ait don't expect them to help you with rank.Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 1 at 2018 7:24 PM2018-09-01T19:24:38-04:002018-09-01T19:24:38-04:002018-08-27T02:12:58-04:00
