It's what he does. He politicalizes everything. He always make the same speech. Blames Congress and the nra. And he makes up a bunch of statistics. If Obama had a son he would look like the shooter. He cannot even bring himself to say Christians were targeted by the shooter.

News outlets are echoing the possibility that President O'Bama may be planning to show up for funerals of those lost in Roseburg, Oregon... to what end?

Other than to further the half-cocked "statement" he's already made, regarding his (and the left in general's) "extra-constitutional" (obsession) desire to further their "Gun Control Agenda" on the backs of those dead and grieving.

Would not his time be better spent in Chicago, where this kind of thing is a near daily occurrence, where he may hold some sway (though doubtful) at reducing the numerous losses in the streets of his own "hometown" community?

Rather than going to Roseburg and getting in the way of the proceedings & risk adding "insult" to "injury" in the rural Community. Sending "Official Condolence" is one thing and more than appropriate after his "ill timed" statement, before Local Law Enforcement had time to investigate and piece together the why of what transpired if there is even anything close to an explanation that comes anywhere close to rational for the occurrence.
Will this man stop at nothing to make himself look... more like a "Pompus ____ (fill in the Blank)? ... Ur...Um... I mean less than "presidential"?

So it is to Intrude to express "Righteous Indignation" at the Gun Stupidity in this country. So Many Young People Dying because some Worship Guns more than their Fellow Human Beings? If you Ignore this at this Point You're a Souless Monster in my book. I am Grateful that the President is going there to Console People that lost their loved ones in a State who's Supreme Court said you can carry your weapon anytime you want anywhere you want to specifically include Schools of Higher Education in a Township who's Sherriff is a disgusting Sandy Hook Truther that had the Audacity to send a Nasty Gram to the VP after Sandy Hook that he would not enforce any new Gun Legislation in response to Sandy Hook. Your Damn Right I am just as Pissed Off as I hope and think the President is.

If he is going there with genuine concern and sympathy then I have no problem with it. But if he's just going there to further his agenda and slam legal gun owners, he should stay away.

SCPO Carl Wayne Boss I think that he should stay away. Let the community grieve. A presidential visit means Secret Service restrictions and intrusion on the folk. It is not something that they need when trying to deal with a tragedy such as this. Beyond that, turning tragedy into political capital is a douchebag move on anyone's part. Let these people Grieve.

Major Zeksi and First Class "Apologist" Nagel;-) I see you're still attempting to "limit" the discourse by disallowing those you don't agree with you from commenting... A typical Leftist approach, albeit a "childish" one.

"Seatbelt laws, helmet laws, gun laws, laws on knives and other weapons, traffic laws, building codes, highway standards, etc etc etc - these are all ways the government protects the people from themselves and from others."

Whether these laws and a large percentage of others... offer all that much in the way of "Protection" is arguable... Most human beings are going to do as they damn well please please, near 50 years in Law Enforcement in many arenas has shown me that... if nothing else...

Particularly if they believe any given law is a "Bureaucratic Overreach" which all too many are. I know of what I speak because as I indicate previously... I've been an enforcer of many of the types of laws you've listed for near 5 Lustrum.

I've actually had greater success, TEACHING" my constituents why adhering to the Laws and Regulations and the like is to their advantage ... rather than bludgeoning them with the Code Books or a Citation Pad or Summons! Which would you Gentlemen prefer?

I have had greater success treating my constituents like "Adults" that will do the right thing of their own accord in their own good time and allowing them to regulate themselves... rather than treating them like "children" and constantly "nipping at their heels" like yapping dog or a nagging spouse... which few of us appreciate.

Case in point, as a Fire & Building Code Enforcement Official for many decades, I've tried to teach the constituents in my jurisdiction the wisdom of installing, testing & maintaining Smoke Alarms in their residences. Unfortunately, I've seen many of them and their families die over the years, for lack of a $2.00 9-volt battery. "Laws" and "Codes" of all types are basically recommendations made by governments in response to things that have "PROVEN" to have a high cost (in Monetary or human terms or both) to Society if not adhered to.

"Free Will" is something that is given us by our Creator and which "EVERYONE" has a right to exercise... unfortunately every time "FREE WILL" is exercised by "ANYONE" there are also accompanying "CONSEQUENCES", some good, some not so...

Unfortunately "CRIMINALS" and "CRAZIES" of "ALL STRIPES"... just like yourselves... are endowed with FREE WILL as well... and you can pass all the laws you care too and it's not going to phase them. who don't care to comply with them, one bit...

For many years while in the U.S. Coast Guard, I functioned as a Federal Law Enforcement Boarding Officer and was tasked with "educating" people about why it was wise to carry PFD's (personal flotation devices) and fire extinguishers among other safety equipment on their boats...

I found it very strange, that someone would spend a from several thousand to a Quarter of a Million and in many cases up to several Million Dollars on a boat... but wouldn't spend $50.00 each, for a half dozen Fire Extinguishers to protect their "investments" or $15 to $30 dollars apiece for PFD's for each of their crew or family members.... THAT made me scratch my head... even to this day... I have to scratch these days, as I pulled all my hair out long ago SGT Keen!

By the way Sgt. Keen;-) Youngman... I'd find another way to vent your frustration than pulling your hair out... all that's going to do is leave you hairless. Many of us would be exceedingly happy if the President just kept some of his "Extremist" (one of his favorite words) opinions to himself... but we all know, that's not going to happen, don't we.

What is not liked about the President's interjections... is his frequent "condescension" and the ever present attitude that he exhibits, that is knows better and is better than all the rest of us. He claims to be a "Constitutional Scholar"... My question is... of whose "Constitution"? Perhaps he should reread ours sometime... after all he did take an oath to uphold it and defend it against all enemies foreign and domestic... but at times it seems like he is "Our Constitution's" greatest enemy.
