PO2 Private RallyPoint Member2101481<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Today I found out I picked up 2nd class (good news). I went through PO2 indoc at my last command. My last command put all our petty officers through the course so we could knock it out early. Now, since I just picked up 2nd class, im wondering if I have to go through PO2 indoc again. Ive done research. Cant find a direct answer. The date was May 2015 and it is documented in my ETJ. Thanks.Does Petty Officer Selectee Leadership Course Expire?2016-11-23T10:38:21-05:00PO2 Private RallyPoint Member2101481<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Today I found out I picked up 2nd class (good news). However, your CoC can tell you to have the training again if they deem it is necessary for you. Think of it as a refresher. We all do annual trainings that cover same topic every year. What is the harm of another PO2 indoc?Response by PO1 Private RallyPoint Member made Nov 29 at 2016 11:55 AM2016-11-29T11:55:22-05:002016-11-29T11:55:22-05:00PO2 Private RallyPoint Member2117831<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You only have to do it once. Just have your Chief or whoever is in charge of the Indoc to verify it.Response by PO2 Private RallyPoint Member made Nov 29 at 2016 12:02 PM2016-11-29T12:02:27-05:002016-11-29T12:02:27-05:00CPO James Clopton2117855<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The simple answer, is just go ask your Chief. He (or She) will probably give one of three answers: 1) He might give you a proverbial pat on the back and thank you for not wasting Command resources, by not sitting through it again. 2) He'll say that there's been enough changes that you need to go again. 3) Go ask someone in Personnel. If there's ANY doubt, or if you feel you'd have to use regulations to 'force' them to accept your prior training, DO THE TRAINING!! Whether or not it expires, there's good reason to go again at this new command. On the surface, it can potentially bring out some nuanced privileges and responsibilities unique under that CO. Beneath the surface, you DON'T want to be THAT guy who always goes to the Regs to get his way.Response by CPO James Clopton made Nov 29 at 2016 12:06 PM2016-11-29T12:06:37-05:002016-11-29T12:06:37-05:00PO1 Donald Vinson2121723<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>First of all, Congrats. Good for you for doing the course early, but with every Command they may require you to attend it again depending if they added or amended any additional course instruction. Check with your Chief or personnel dept to make sure. Keep up the good work.Response by PO1 Donald Vinson made Nov 30 at 2016 2:57 PM2016-11-30T14:57:16-05:002016-11-30T14:57:16-05:00PO1 Andrew Karalis2132897<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>There is no "expiration" per se, but as mentioned above the course may have been updated in the last 18 months. Another thing, check your service jacket and make sure your course attendance and successful completion in May 2015 are logged correctly or you will have to take the course again at your new command. Congratulations Shipmate!Response by PO1 Andrew Karalis made Dec 4 at 2016 9:27 PM2016-12-04T21:27:24-05:002016-12-04T21:27:24-05:00PO2 Private RallyPoint Member2175435<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Thank you guys for all your responses and advice. I talked to the POSLC facilitator and gave her my FLTMPS print out. She said I was good to go and I am now a frocked HM2 (ill keep my rate thank you). So that concludes that issue, hopefully this post helps someone in the future.Response by PO2 Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 20 at 2016 1:26 PM2016-12-20T13:26:54-05:002016-12-20T13:26:54-05:002016-11-23T10:38:21-05:00
