We are currently stationed at Fort Carson and my wife and kids would rather stay here while I attend school. Is it a possibility for them to stay at our current location while I attend training even though this is considered a PCS and not TDY? Would my BAH rate stay for this zip code? I am tracking there are no barracks for this course at this time. Thanks for any and all help.Does my family have an option for PCS'ing with me to JBSA while I attend the Combat Paramedic Course (CPC)?2021-02-08T18:11:14-05:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member6730653<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am slotted to report to JBSA on 10 April and begin CPC two weeks after that. You schooling is approximately 40 weeks. It would be best to check with your 1 Sgt /CO to get a clear understanding. If the point of your training is that you will return back to your current home unit, it most likely would be possible for them to stay.Response by Cpl David Hamilton made Feb 8 at 2021 6:37 PM2021-02-08T18:37:51-05:002021-02-08T18:37:51-05:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member6731103<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>What you're looking for is called a BAH Waiver. It's for PCS length training of under a year in length. Your family can remain at your old post and receive BAH for that location until you finish your training. The person who said it's up to your commander is wrong. You are being PCSed to the school and will PCS again to a new location after that.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 8 at 2021 8:16 PM2021-02-08T20:16:44-05:002021-02-08T20:16:44-05:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member6734371<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Since your schooling is over 180 days, it’s considered a PCS move. With that being said, if it is a PCS move and you elect to leave your family, you will receive BAH based upon where you are located not your family. You will not receive BAH for both locations. To receive a BAH waiver, you would have to have unique and unavoidable circumstances in order for it to be approved. Good luck to you.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 10 at 2021 1:09 AM2021-02-10T01:09:11-05:002021-02-10T01:09:11-05:002021-02-08T18:11:14-05:00
