Does it bother anyone else that we seem to set the stage for the next war our children will fight?

It seems wherever we fight, we either leave a power vacuum or the politicians don't allow us to truly defeat the enemy.

It happen every generation, and normally that is not the war that get fought...it bothers me, but they will figure out a way through just like we did.

The reality of war and politics is that "war to the knife" is rarely a tolerable, much less desired, outcome.

Admittedly, it would probably be better for all concerned if we could at least be better at imperial management while we're occupying any given country, but that is more the fault of Foggy Bottom than the puzzle palace.
