Does it boil your blood when the news shows our fallen brothers and sisters' bodies?

I am watching CNN and they had helicopter flying over scanning one of the two locations of today's shooting and they zoomed in and you could see bodies from a distance. They continues to zoom in and then the news keep playing that clip. When did we lose humanity and having exclusive and footage is more important than giving the fallen signity and saving the families?

Thoughts?

LTC Private RallyPoint Member Yes is does make me both angry and sad to see service members bodies especially when they are gunned down with no ability to defend themselves.
For that matter I am offended when the news zooms in on any dead or worse yet dying body especially for Americans and our allies.

It definitely bothers me. Hopefully seeing it will give a little more seriousness to the rest of the population about how big of a threat ISIS is though.

At first I thought you meant covered bodies and I felt annoyed at media vultures. Then I heard the bodies were uncovered and yeah, screw those guys. Disrespectful to the dead and their families, who will undoubtedly see that video at some point and get to relive it all again and again.

Worst bit is I'm hearing CNN isn't the only one that did it.

LTC Private RallyPoint Member I believe the news channels need to get reeled in when it comes to these types of issues and newsreels being shown on TV. I understand the right to Freedom of Speech and all that good stuff, but this is really taking it too far. They can the same amount of news out to the public with a little respect. Very sad for those parents and love ones of those service members to see that on TV.

Actually..... the news makes my blood boil... In there efforts to report, be first, and be the best, they are making everything worse... They only care about ratings... and the more news we have, it seems the worse things get... Too much of good thing is not always good.

Blood and guts get higher ratings, there is no doubt about that. Does it make it right to show the bodies as they did? Heck no but they do it all the time. Just watch the news, and when they cover a murder nine times out of ten they will show the body of the victim in the report.

Civilian or military, it is an issue of respect for the fallen. The media in today's world has lost sight of the concept of respect.
