It'll only go so far in this country in the name of political correctness. We as a nation will appease them as to not look anti-islam. Once it goes too far even the liberals will eventually push back.

If you listen to the leadership of the radical islamists their goal is world domination by islam which would include sharia law and that includes dress. We just had a supreme court ruling against a retailer that requires them to allow a muslim woman to wear her headgear in their store. Not a big deal? We shall see. They will use many measures to meet their goals.

They will use our laws and system against us and they will use force where they can. They will use the courts and anti-discrimination laws, civil rights attorney's and the like to make progress. If you think it is not possible, you are kidding yourself. Look at what is happening in some western European countries. We already have sharia law being practiced "voluntarily" in some places in this country.

The masses of "moderate" muslims, if push comes to shove, will align with the radicals to protect themselves. Nothing will unite people like a common enemy and make no mistake, we are the enemy of radical islamists.

It will not happen tomorrow but the ball is already rolling. They are committed and are willing to play the long term game.

I forgot the name of the guy who gave the lecture so this isn't my own idea. What he stated was the biggest threat to Western society was not the Islamic militant with a gun...it was the subtle changes that radical Islamist were forcing in America and Europe. He stated that radical Islamist are using ideas such as freedom of speech and religion allow them to establish their own independent communities...which led to the Paris riots in 2005 and the issues England is having today.

I am no more concerned with Islamic dress than I am with the Duggar's dress code. Just dont try to push it beyond your "church's " membership. This is the land of the free so dress as your beliefs dictate.

You have three questions in your survey but room for only one response. No the dress code doesn't scare me. People are free to dress as they please. That works both ways and I don't believe that women should be forced to wear the hijab. However if they are wearing it (and it comes in many forms from as simple as wearing a head scarf) it doesn't automatically mean they are being forced to. I think its funny you might see a woman in France wearing a headscarf and being ostracized but then you'll see plenty of white Christian ladies doing the same but no body bats an eye to it. Anything could happen in the USA however I feel that the rights enshrined in the constitution and the Christian majority would prevent this. Islam may be the fastest growing religion and there may be over a billion Muslims but its still a small minority here in the US. So No I don't think it will ever happen and I'm not going to lose any sleep about it. Islam is practiced by so many different groups and cultures, and just like Christianity is split into many different sects. I find it hard to make a generalization or to believe one about such diverse group. Islam is not our enemy. We are not conducting a religious war. If we were I wouldn't be serving because I will not fight for any religion. Radical Islam though is a threat and I mean Wahhabism. This sect of Islam is truly fundamentalist and believes that everything done after the death of Mohammed is blasphemy. However this sect would be of no consequence if it weren't adopted by our close allies the Saudi and if they didn't have all that money to spread this desert ideology throughout the Muslim world. This sect would also would be of no consequence if the social-political-economical conditions weren't ripe for exploitation in the Middle East. Years of despotism, Western meddling, economic mismanagement, the vacuum left by the Iraq war and the begging affects of climate change(its no coincidence that the Syrian civil war began as they were in the midst of huge drought) has made it easy for radicals such as ISIS to spread and take root. This conflict is much too complicated to break it down to just us vs them; to what we know and what scares us. Our superior firepower will only get us so far if we don't have smarter tactics and a smarter strategy.

Traditional Muslims can have their communities and have their own rules but if one of their members do not want to abide by their rules, there is not a law they have I am required to enforce as a law enforcement official.
