Anthony Weiner is a scumbag. Why Ms Abedin choose to stick with him when this whole gong show got started was a questionable, if understandable decision.
My guess is that there is a political component to this. The parallels with the Clintons in the late '90s are obvious. So rather than draw uncomfortable comparisons that the Clintons would prefer to not come up again, she splits with Weiner.

Seeing a marriage break up is never good news. I hope that they put the needs of their four year old son first.

CSM Charles Hayden do you think that decisions to stay or leave a spouse is simply a matter of whether a person has personal character or not? Are you suggesting that those who divorce have personal character and those that don't do not?

I wonder if all those posters who are so derisive of both women for their choices would be equally harsh on a women who stayed in a marriage because her religion doesn't allow divorce and believes marriage is forever and for better or worse or ridicule a women who said she believes forgiveness is a part of life.

I don't know that you can directly compare them. Perhaps Hillary felt the marriage was worth saving and Huma doesn't feel that way about hers? It is the stuff you do not see that can make a difference.

I don't think so. I think each had their personal reasons for doing so. I don't judge anyone for staying in *or* leaving a shitty relationship. Maybe Bill and Hillary actually had those hard conversations and were able to put the incident behind them.
