Does anyone know where I can get information on the units that was assigned to operation Lan Som 719?

My unit was the XXIV Corps command aviation company for the whole time XXIV Corps was in Nam.

SgtFC, try going to http://www.recordsofwar.com/vietnam/usmc/USMC_Rvn_index.htm
You will want to change the usmc with army. If that doesn't work, I have other sites which may have it. Good luck brother!

Introduction to the History of Dewey Canyon II / Lam Son 719

Most published histories divide Lam Son 719 into four phases with the first starting on 29 January when U.S. Army ground units would begin reopening and securing Route 9 and reoccuping Khe Sanh as a forward supply base. The "Preparation Phase" section of this VHPA history attempts to describe the preparation and relocation activities of the helicopter units that supported this operation.

The best source of information for Lam Som 719 would be a book called PAVN The Peoples Army of Vietnam by Douglas Pike. It's out of print, but you probably can get a used copy on the internet. I talks about the Vietnam war from the North Vietnamese point of view and goes into Lam Som 719 in detail. It's been more than 25 years since I've read it, but I believe the information you seek is in it, but You'll have to do a bit of searching to find it
