Does anyone know how I can quickly license National Guard non MOS Q 88M if these SMs are professional truck drivers?

Any SM can receive a license on a military vehicle provided they have checked all the boxes for the following:

1. Taken the written, PMCS, familiarization, and road test on said vehicle
2. Performed the Commanders interview to have the CO sign off on the license.

The Master Driver really has the say on whether some truly receives their license or not. I'm not sure about an AR or policy that outlines it.

Send them through Drivers Training ( Drivers Academy), have them go out with a driver trainer not sure on how my hours or miles. Then have your Master Driver test them on a road test. That should take care of it.

Unless the Reg has been updated, check AR 600-55.
I sampled Chapters 4-1 and 4-2 for you:
All training for vehicles and equipment which require licensing under this regulation will be documented on a DA Form 348 prior to issuing an OF 346

4-2 Instructors
...a. Selecting instructors. All prospective instructors and assistant instructors must—
(1) Be appointed in writing to train or instruct on an authorized type of vehicle.
(2) Be licensed to operate the vehicle or equipment.
(3) Have technical knowledge and experience as outlined in appendix F.
b. Instructor certification. Instructors will be certified to ensure proper knowledge of subject material and teaching ability before training students. The commander will certify instructors in writing.
4–3. Qualification training
Qualification training will include sequential and progressive instruction in academic subjects and on driving. Operators will not participate in any hands-on vehicle or equipment training without a valid OF 346 Learner’s Permit (see chap 6).
a. Academics and driving. Appendix E provides a guidelines for commanders to use in designing training programs, to include academic subjects as well as hands-on training.
b. Accident avoidance training. All operators will receive accident avoidance training according to AR 385–55.
c. Qualification. Upon completion of training, the operator must successfully complete a written examination (sample examination provided at table 4–1) and a driver performance test (see app G for wheeled vehicles). Upon passing these tests, the student may be issued an OF 346 Standard Permit or Limited Permit according to chapter 6.

Unfortunately they still have to attend the 88M course to get that DA1059. HR will not award them the MOS without it. Your unit Master Driver can license them by road testing them and making sure that he or she knows how to properly operate the vehicle IAW the TM's , TC's and cmd or unit SOP's. I would be very careful and make darn sure of their qualifications before I licensed them. A CDL is not proof of experience. And an M915 with an 872 trailer does not equate to a Pepsi delivery truck. We had an accident investigation track all the way back to the schoolhouse because a private was licensed without the necessary experience, his HEMTT drove right over top of a German family, killing them all.

2LT Uribe,
Do you have a POC at the Transportation School? I've seen the regulations mentioned. I seem to recall as a Company Commander in the mid 90 when I received a number of qualified helicopter mechanics that after going deep into the regulations we were able to send supporting documentation to the Ordnance School and get a wheeled vehicle mechanic certification and MOS awarded without having to send them all back to school. You may find it's worth checking out. Next have you spoken to any of your Warrant Officers to look into this? They are a wealth of information that's way under utilized!

Yrs ago I grandfathered in for 88m. Due to the fact I had a civillian class a CDL. Also had references stating I knew,what I was doing.. here it is I have 25 yrs trucking expirence.. close,to 1.5 million miles.. seen alot drove alot done alot...

Can't you just give them a refresher or a quick run through on the equipment then give them the tests? The civilian side truck drivers have to learn more to get their license than any 88m.
