Does anyone know any good reliable websites that work to see if someone ever served in the military?

Does anyone know any good reliable websites that work to see if someone ever served in the military or not. Theirs these guys at the gym that keep talking about all this crap they did over seas but from what little i know about the military none of what they say makes any sense.
