Does anyone have any good resources for grading and evaluating coins?

It's all subjective. There's no objective criteria for the value of challenge coins, outside of what the individual who made the coin paid for them.

Most libraries have a section on coin collecting. If you go to the coins you have in question, they often have grading charts and sometimes photos of what they mean by a certain grade of coin.

My understanding is that the higher the rank on the back side, the more valuable. I always carried my SMA, my 3-star, and my unit coin (for whatever unit I was in, if I had one from that unit). Just to be safe.

What, you were talking about something else?
