Does anyone have any experience with being passed over twice in the IRR and having your record changed to join the ANG?

I left the Air Force in 2012 with the RIF, because I had finished my master’s degree with TA I owed extra time in the IRR. Which I did not realize meant I would have to meet two Maj’s boards (because i had no idea there were promotion boards in the IRR). To get to my point I’ve spent the last two years having an ANG unit try to bring me back in. I told them from day one that I had been passed over twice in the IRR. The state recently denied my package and said that I needed to have at least one, if not both, removed from my record. I asked the recruiter how to do that and he just told me he had no idea and ghosted me. I realize that a DDFM 149 change of military record is the answer when googled, but i’m trying to find anyone with any advice or who knows anyone that has gone about such a process. It seems like the odds of a random person alone asking a board to remove being passed over (even in the IRR) to continue serving is a long, if not impossible shot. All I get from every person I reach out to is “oh i don’t know”. Thanks

OK, from the Army Reserve side, as far as I can find, the only option for officers passed over for promotion is Reversion, or resigning your commission and re-enlisting. If you have enough years to qualify to retire as an officer for pay, 10 years I believe, it may be to your benefit to come back enlisted since you could still retire at your officers pay.

Also, since I was still Active Reserve, there are Continuation Boards that can allow an officer an additional three years to promote, work, retire etc. This wasn't available when I was in. The downside is that it seems to be a board function and there is no application process, so either you get extended or you don't.
