Does anyone have any details at all about LHD-6 Bonhomme Richards hull swap?

I’m a radar ET in holds awaiting transfer. Does anyone have any details at all about LHD-6 Bonhomme Richards hull swap? I have NECs for SPS-49A(V1) and SPS-67(V1) and frankly I have no idea what’s going on with the ship. I know they’re swapping with the Wasp and it’s already there but other than that I don’t know much else.

SN Private RallyPoint Member I assume you’re going to Bomhomme Richard? Last I remember they’re in Sasebo, Japan for turnover. Do you have a sponsor on the ship? They would be able to tell you the most up to date information.

PLEASE-- UPDATE YOUR QUESTION with a reminder to be cognizant of OPSEC when responding. Talking about specific movements of specific ships can be dicey, and we are not ALL friends here... (we should be, but you can never be too careful).

They Hull swap because it is cheaper for the Navy and less impactful on the families involved to simply move the forward deployed crew to a new ship when theirs needs to come home for major maintenance or upkeep. There is a lot of process that goes into making sure the right NEC's are going to be on both ships after the swap, so it is common for orders to either or both to be held up until all of that is figured out (and they pick a cutoff date after which orders to a ship will be written after the swap).
