You really have to be more specific. I can think of about a dozen python books and websites alone, and there's so many more languages

I am with a lot of people here on you need to be more specific. If your looking into automating tasks and scripting then you can't go wrong with "Learn Python The Hard Way" or a book on PowerShell. I have been going through "Learn Python the Hard Way" with my son and it is definitely really good.

I recommend Lynda.com

I used it for PHP and Autodesk Inventor. Great site.
