I do have mine on a shelf sitting on an upright position in the carrying case. Each piece of cord was about 12 inches long. Tied it off in a square knot. Hung just like the old ones. Took some time to do, but wasn't hard to do. Last one disappeared. I would think that storing standing up on a shelf on the filters would be the best. If you store laying down the weight on the bottom layer of mask could distort the rubber on the bottom mask and effect making the seal. Hit from way back. That caring pouch would take a hell of a magazine caring pouch. Toss the mask, you will never use it but use the pouch to carry loaded magazines. From experience I know dumping the empty with the right hand and grabbing with left out of the pouch and inserting a fresh magazine saves several second for either a pouch or pockets on a vest. Second will save your life…OK now a question for all you young guys. I see a kid (teenager) walking around with a virtual Reality headset I guess playing a game.Does this technology and augmented reality have military applications. I don't see why algorithms (yes we had them back in the slide rule days) be put onto sensors that would recognize faces, weapons, horizontal lines, vehicles in foliage (FLIR) and could be worn by a point man/woman or a patrol leader. It seem to me these headsets could have unlimited military applications…If any of you have ideas pass it on up the chain of command. The use of the pouch really does work, we used pouches for the M 17A1 Protective mask which as as valuable as a mess kit to carry loaded magazines, I'm surprised the Army never adapted it, but again how many officers have bee caught dismounted in an ambush or engaged it a fire fight. This applications save I would estimate 3-5 seconds in reloading. Adjust the strap as needed to keep an organized appears. The M50 Mask has an individual serial number and lot number. that is located on the right side of the mask once you take off the M67 Filters. It’ll be easier to hang and take off quickly if need be.
