Does anyone believe Texas is a true toss up state?

RealClearPolitics just moved Texas into the toss-up catagory; the current polling average has Trump leading by about 4 points.

Is Texas actually sliding blue this election? If it is, what other states might flip?

It's possible that Texas could go the other way this election, although I don't think it is very likely.

Trump is pretty unlikeable for a lot of conservatives, and the only thing that I think is keeping him afloat down here is that Hillary is even more unlikeable.

If there were a different Democrat nominee I would not be horribly surprised to see Texas go Blue this year. It would still be a shock, sure, but most of the bigger cities are already voting liberal in local elections.

Texas was most probable going to flip in a few years due to demographics and simple aging, but that was some years off.

But this year Trump managed to piss off Hispanics en-mass and women in general, and seems to be intent on leading a get out the vote effort for the DEMOCRATS, I think that It is probably unlikely that Hillary wins Texas, but its future as a purple state seems undeniable.

AZ is probably going to vote Blue their loudmouth ex-governor insulting the Hispanic population recently pretty much guarantees that. Again a Republican driving Democrats to the polls en-mass.

Texas had always been RED since I can remember....and before my time it was Blue....but...I do believe many Texans are undecided right now.

I'll say it here and I hope I'm wrong. Texas will go democrat.

Why you ask? Look at the maps of Florida from the 2008 and 2012 election. The major cities are the only blue spots. The entirety of the remainder of the state was red. The population centers turned the state in those examples and the same will happen with Texas this year.

The sparse population across the state won't be enough to counter liberal havens like Austin, DFW, and San Antonio. The fact that trump wants to reform immigration and not grant citizenship to illegals will help fuel the flip.

I hope I'm wrong. I really really hope I'm wrong. I just don't think I am and I tend to be a realist.

Liberal states will be liberal states and unfortunately, they are escaping their liberal states and moving to states with decent economies. They refuse to understand that their liberal votes destroyed their states of origin and forced them to find greener pastures. Votes do have consequences and i'm seeing a lot of foreign tags in TX from CA, NY, NJ, PA, etc.

I've often thought about creating a billboard and posting it at all of the major highways into TX that states, "Welcome to Texas. If you left your dying, overtaxed state after voting for the democrats. Stop voting or go home!"

Not anymore, the news just reported that Trump has a 3 point lead over Clinton. And Clinton has a 3 point lead over Trump in Fla. Now the Republican party just announced that they will support and vote for Trump . because he's still very close in the polls, their voted can put trump over the top in the swing states.

While Texas has been conservative in the past the state has changed drastically over the past decade or so. The metropolitan areas have become much more liberal and the rural areas more conservative. Apparently blind to these changes the Republican Party is ignoring the voters but not the donors. Trump visits Texas to raise money at big bucks a plate dinners but holds few public rallies. The Republican Party of Texas refuses to publish a list of its candidates who support and/or endorse the Presidential Nominee. Even out here in the sticks, there are as many Clinton signs and stickers as there are Trump items. The state may not slide into the Blue column this election but if the current direction of the GOP continues it's only a matter of time.

Texans will vote pretty much 2nd Ammendment, and Conservative values, however, seems that We have a thousand NEW Texans every single day, and sadly, they have brought their views with them. By the next election, most will have figured out what worked in NY or NJ, or wherever they are from where they couldn't support themselves, just won't work for us...
I keep thinking of a comment I saw on the BBC of a Muslim who just laughed, "Hey, in twenty years we will outnumber you, and thanks to your democratic vote, we will OWN you..."

I'd say it's possible since Californians are moving here in droves, because California sucked, and for some reason they want Texas to suck too.
