Was stationed in NSGA Adak, AK when it started. In NSGD Sugar Grove, WV when it ended. Started my Second Hitch and advanced from CTO3 to CTO2 in that time frame if I remember right. Definitely a case of our Overthrow of the Legitimate Government in 1953 came back to bite us in the ass.

I was in first or second grade and too young to understand what was going on. I do remember seeing pictures from the Desert One site in magazines though.
